Job Overview: The Risk Management Officer position at WFP involves coordinating and executing monitoring, spot-checking, and risk management activities within the field offices in Chad. Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct scheduled and unscheduled follow-up visits to WFP intervention sites to ensure compliance with distribution plans, beneficiary lists, and operational standards.
Prepare and submit detailed monitoring and verification reports highlighting key findings, challenges, compliance issues, and recommendations.
Verify beneficiary records against actual distributions to prevent abuse and duplication, validating the accuracy of reports from implementing partners.
Identify risks associated with food and cash distributions and report them accordingly.
Support WFP operations by mitigating operational risks through enhanced monitoring and verification practices.
Assess storage conditions and the quality of food items in warehouses and distribution sites to prevent theft, diversion, or deterioration of products.
Collaborate with the Risk Management Officer to provide evidence-based reports and propose risk mitigation measures.
Verify planned movements and distribution of food or non-food items, resolving common issues and reporting when necessary to ensure that distributed quantities and operational quality meet WFP standards.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in monitoring and evaluation (M&E) programs. They should have facilitated communication with technical teams (nutrition, vulnerability analysis, and mapping, etc.) and contributed to program implementation. Experience in observing or facilitating discussions on necessary actions is also required. Strong analytical skills and the ability to work in challenging environments are essential.
Educational Background: The minimum educational requirement for this position is the completion of secondary education. A post-secondary certificate in project management or related fields is preferred. Candidates should have a solid understanding of risk management principles and practices, as well as familiarity with humanitarian operations.
Experience: The position requires at least 5 years of relevant experience in monitoring and evaluation, with a strong background in risk management and compliance checks.
