The organization's mission is to ensure quality care for refugees and asylum seekers, adhering to international humanitarian and human rights standards, while also supporting vulnerable subgroups through various programs and initiatives.

Job Overview:
The Project Associate (Climate Resilience) will be stationed in Jakarta and will report directly to the National Project Officer. The primary responsibility of this role is to support the implementation of the EU-Asean MECC project activities, along with other assigned projects, in accordance with the approved workplans and budgets. The Project Associate will work closely with relevant IOM staff and partners to ensure that the centrality of protection is maintained in the response efforts, thereby strengthening the protection environment for refugees. This position requires active participation in stakeholder engagement related to climate migration, including networking with various parties for knowledge dissemination, meeting arrangements, and webinars, particularly with ASEAN counterparts and representatives from both governmental and non-governmental sectors. The role also involves consolidating IOM's climate migration knowledge and best practices, supporting the climate team in compiling and updating relevant information, and assisting in the development of communication plans and visibility strategies to enhance the exposure of project activities and results.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Project Associate will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including but not limited to: supporting the implementation of project activities and stakeholder engagement in line with approved workplans and budgets; actively participating in stakeholder engagement on climate migration projects and networking with relevant parties; supporting project activities involving government agencies, NGOs, private sector, and civil society groups; consolidating IOM's climate migration knowledge and contributing to ASEAN knowledge management priorities; assisting the climate team in compiling and updating relevant information for internal learning and reporting; supporting the development of communication plans and visibility strategies; assisting in internal and external project reporting with documentation and relevant materials; and performing any other duties as required by the National Project Officer.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Social Work, Gender, Development Studies, International Relations, or a related field from an accredited academic institution, along with at least three years of relevant working experience. Alternatively, candidates with a completed High School degree from an accredited institution and at least five years of relevant working experience will also be considered. It is essential that the educational qualifications come from accredited universities recognized in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Social Work, Gender, Development Studies, International Relations, or a related discipline. Candidates with a completed High School degree may also apply if they have significant relevant work experience. The educational qualifications must be from accredited institutions, ensuring that the candidates have received a quality education that meets international standards.

Experience:
Candidates should have substantial experience in engaging with ASEAN and diplomatic representations to facilitate liaison and coordination with institutional stakeholders. Experience in supporting institutional liaison, development programs, and climate-related initiatives, particularly those targeting populations on the move, is highly desirable. This experience is crucial for effectively navigating the complexities of climate migration and ensuring successful project implementation.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia is mandatory for all applicants, both in oral and written forms. IOM's official languages also include French and Spanish, and proficiency in these languages may be considered an asset during the selection process. Language skills will be specifically evaluated, which may include written and/or oral assessments to ensure candidates meet the communication requirements of the role.

Additional Notes:
The position is offered as a short-term contract, with an estimated start date as soon as possible.
