Job Overview: The mission of the Finance Department is to contribute to the effective management of the association by ensuring the quality and reliability of financial information, the security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security of financial flows, and the efficiency of financial processes. The Financial Coordinator will manage a portfolio of funding for several programs, with varying levels of involvement depending on the autonomy of the programs (implementation, support, or sampling control). The main objectives of this position are divided into three areas: 1) Management of funding and partners, which includes financial management of funding contracts, financial monitoring, and reporting; 2) Closure and account closing, which involves producing summary statements for accounting closures; and 3) Support and assistance to field financial teams, which includes training, technical support, and capacity building for financial teams. This role requires a proactive approach to ensure compliance with financial regulations and effective communication with various stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Financial Coordinator will be responsible for the following duties: 1) Financial management of funding contracts, including contributing to budgets, managing administrative requests, negotiating and validating funding contracts, monitoring expenses, making adjustments, controlling consumption rates, and managing budget allocations. 2) Planning, drafting, and archiving financial reports in compliance with contractual requirements, as well as supporting the production of financial statements for audits and responding to auditors. 3) Updating contracts in the information system and ensuring consistency between internal data and financial reports. 4) Analyzing the financial capacities of partners and controlling their expenses and accounting compliance. 5) Producing summary statements for accounting closures, including allocation calculations, risk control, and account monitoring. 6) Providing training, technical support, and capacity building for field financial teams, including control missions and support, and participating in financial briefings, debriefings, and evaluations.
Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications: 1) A minimum of 2 years of experience in finance, management control, or a financial coordination role in an NGO setting. 2) Knowledge of donor regulations (ECHO, EU, OFDA, UNICEF, etc.). 3) Proven writing and communication skills, particularly in drafting financial reports, in both French and English. 4) Ability to work in an intercultural environment and demonstrate flexibility, responsiveness, proactivity, and the ability to work under pressure. 5) Experience in emergency contexts is a plus.
Educational Background: Candidates should have a relevant educational background in finance, accounting, or a related field. A degree in finance or a similar discipline is preferred, as it provides the foundational knowledge necessary for effective financial management and reporting.
Experience: Candidates should have at least 2 years of relevant experience in finance or financial coordination, preferably within the NGO sector. Experience in managing financial contracts and working with various stakeholders is essential for this role.
Languages: Fluency in French is mandatory, and proficiency in English is also required. Additional language skills may be considered an asset, particularly in the context of international operations and partnerships.
Additional Notes: This position is a fixed-term contract (CDD) for 6 months, starting as soon as possible. The role is classified as a managerial position, offering 34 days of paid leave and 13 RTT days annually, with a CET available to help balance work and personal life. The organization promotes a flexible work environment, including a meal voucher system (60% covered by HI) and a telework charter allowing for a minimum of 8 days of in-person work per month. Transportation costs are partially covered (50% of transport subscriptions), and the organization provides health insurance and various internal awareness programs.
