Job Overview:

The consultant will be responsible for analyzing legal documents, providing recommendations, and supporting the implementation of legal strategies that align with national and international standards. The assignment is set for a duration of 8 months, during which the consultant will work closely with UNDP and other partners to achieve the objectives of the project.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis on issues related to transitional justice and the rights of public force participants.
• Develop legal frameworks and guidelines to support the legal security of individuals involved in transitional justice processes.
• Collaborate with UNDP and other stakeholders to design and implement training programs on legal rights and obligations for public force participants.
• Provide legal advice and support to public institutions and organizations involved in transitional justice.
• Prepare detailed reports and documentation outlining findings, recommendations, and strategies for improving legal security.
• Facilitate workshops and discussions to promote understanding of transitional justice among stakeholders.
• Monitor and evaluate the implementation of legal strategies and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with national and international legal standards in all consultancy activities.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires the following qualifications:

• A professional degree in Law (Título Profesional Profesional en Derecho).
• A postgraduate degree in any branch of law or social sciences is preferred.
• Demonstrable experience of at least 4 years in transitional justice, human rights, armed conflict, or Special Jurisdiction for Peace.
• Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to interpret complex legal texts and frameworks.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in Spanish.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and international organizations.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a professional degree in Law, which is essential for understanding the legal frameworks relevant to the position. Additionally, a postgraduate degree in law or social sciences is highly desirable, as it provides a deeper understanding of the social implications of legal practices and policies. This educational background is crucial for effectively addressing the complexities of transitional justice and human rights issues in Colombia.

Experience:
