Job Overview:
The National Finance and Administration Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the National Project Manager (NPM) and the Project Management Unit (PMU) in the implementation of the project titled 'Strengthening sustainability in commodity and food systems, land restoration and land use governance through integrated landscape management for multiple benefits in Indonesia (FOLUR)'. This project focuses on ensuring sustainable value chains for palm oil, coffee, and cocoa through a comprehensive land use approach that links biodiversity conservation, restoration, and production at scale. The Assistant will be responsible for financial management, administration management, and logistics aspects of the project, ensuring compliance with UNDP, FAO, and government regulations. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to achieve project objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The National Finance and Administration Assistant will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including:
  • Financial Management: - Provide support to project implementing partners in preparing budget plans and managing expenditures. - Monitor project expenditures to ensure compliance with budget lines and project SOPs. - Assist in preparing quarterly and annual financial project progress reports. - Support the budget cycle, including planning, preparation, revisions, and execution. - Prepare financial reports for submission to the PMU.
  • Administration Management: - Organize project events such as workshops and training sessions. - Collect and file administrative documents required for project implementation. - Assist in drafting project progress reports related to administrative issues. - Provide advisory support to collect and record co-financing activities and budget allocations. - Develop an electronic filing system for tracking project activities and expenses.
  • Logistics Management: - Prepare logistics needs for project events, including transportation and accommodation. - Manage the inventory of project goods and assist in procurement processes. - Organize the timely delivery and receipt of goods and monitor the status of project goods.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Economics, Accounting, Business Management, Development Administration, or other relevant fields. A minimum of 3 years of relevant project experience is required for candidates with a Bachelor's degree. Additionally, candidates must be nationals of Indonesia and have a working knowledge (level C) of written and spoken English and Bahasa Indonesia. Familiarity with government and UN/FAO/UNDP procedures is desirable, along with up-to-date computer skills, particularly in spreadsheet and database applications.

Educational Background:
The position requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Economics, Accounting, Business Management, or Development Administration. Candidates must have obtained their higher educational qualifications from institutions accredited or recognized in the World Higher Education Database (WHED).

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of relevant project experience, particularly in supporting the administration of development projects dealing with environmental issues. Experience in project management support, including the ability to draft correspondence on budget-related issues and prepare financial reports, is essential. Familiarity with GEF-supported projects is an advantage.

Languages:
The mandatory languages for this position are written and spoken English and Bahasa Indonesia, with a working knowledge (level C) required. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not mandatory.

This position is full-time and involves project management support duties.
