Job Overview:
The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position is part of the Sustainable Agricultural Supply Chains sector initiative, which promotes sustainable global agricultural supply chains on behalf of the German government and other international partners. The initiative focuses on the development, implementation, consultation, evaluation, and further development of voluntary social and ecological standards across various value chains. The office of the 'Forum Nachhaltiger Kakao e.V.' is integrated within this sector initiative, aiming to improve the living conditions of cocoa farmers and their families, preserve natural resources and biodiversity in cocoa-producing countries, and enhance the cultivation and marketing of sustainably produced cocoa. As an intern, you will support the forum with a focus on communication, event organization, and monitoring activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
As an intern in the Sustainable Agricultural Supply Chains sector initiative, your responsibilities will include: assisting in the creation of communication materials, presentations, and conducting research (both online and literature-based); organizing and executing (online) events, meetings, and trade fair appearances, including follow-up activities; supporting the annual monitoring of the forum and the joint monitoring of sustainable cocoa platforms in Europe (preparation, accompaniment, evaluation); maintaining the website and social media (especially LinkedIn) by writing content and news updates; and performing administrative and organizational tasks in daily operations, including creating minutes in both German and English.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should possess a completed foundational degree in media, journalism, communications, agricultural economics, social sciences, or a related field, and should be in the final phase of their studies or have graduated no more than six months prior. Applicants should have initial knowledge in sustainability or sustainable agricultural supply chains, particularly in cocoa and/or multi-stakeholder initiatives. Experience in public relations, event management, and/or monitoring is also required. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with the ability to write target group-oriented texts and a strong conceptual ability. Candidates should be team-oriented, well-organized, communicative, meticulous, and capable of working independently under guidance. Proficiency in MS Office is necessary, and experience with content management systems is advantageous. Fluency in German and English is required, while knowledge of French is a plus.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a completed foundational degree in fields such as media, journalism, communications, agricultural economics, social sciences, or a comparable discipline. Candidates should be in the final stages of their studies or have graduated within the last six months, ensuring they are eligible for the internship.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have initial experience in areas related to sustainability, sustainable agricultural supply chains, public relations, event management, and monitoring. This experience can be gained through previous internships, academic projects, or relevant work experience.

Languages:
Fluency in German and English is mandatory for this position, as effective communication in both languages is crucial for the role. Knowledge of French is considered an advantage, enhancing the candidate's ability to engage with a broader audience and stakeholders.

The monthly intern compensation is €2,205.04 (gross).
