Job Overview: The Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WaSH) Project Manager is responsible for implementing and achieving the objectives outlined in project proposals. This role involves supervising the operational teams assigned to the program and ensuring the quality and proper execution of the implemented programs. The Project Manager is expected to suggest adjustments or developments to enhance the program's relevance. The position faces significant challenges due to the reduction of humanitarian funding in Yemen, necessitating strategic investments in key areas to ensure the sustainability of the mission on the West Coast. The first few months will focus on leading the implementation of ongoing projects, developing key investments, and reinforcing the integration of crosscutting elements such as protection mainstreaming and environmental considerations.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the WaSH Project Manager include:
Leading the implementation of ongoing WaSH projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
Supervising and guiding operational teams to achieve project objectives effectively.
Developing and steering key investments, studies, and concept notes to initiate new programmatic approaches.
Collaborating with national partners and local authorities to enhance project impact and sustainability.
Monitoring and evaluating project progress, making necessary adjustments to improve outcomes.
Ensuring compliance with security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security protocols and managing risks associated with operating in a complex humanitarian environment.
Reporting on project activities and outcomes to stakeholders and donors.
Engaging in proposal development for future funding opportunities.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a diploma (BA) in a relevant field and have at least 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector. A prior experience in a similar position is considered an asset. Specific technical skills required include experience in WASH project management or construction management, proposal development, and working with national partners and local authorities. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate advanced communication and analytical skills, as well as the ability to manage conflicting priorities and work under tight deadlines in challenging environments.

Additional Notes: This position is a short-term contract with a starting salary of EUR 2310 gross per month, which includes a base salary of EUR 2100 and a 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly. Additionally, a monthly Per Diem of USD 750 is provided. SI covers accommodation costs and travel expenses between the expatriate's country of origin and the place of assignment. The work schedule includes a system of alternation between work and time off, with 7 working days every two months, accompanied by a USD 850 break allowance. Expatriates benefit from a comprehensive insurance package covering healthcare expenses, including medical, surgical, dental, and repatriation costs. Living conditions include accommodation in a rented guesthouse in Al Mokha City, with shared facilities and basic amenities. Reliable but limited internet access is available, and security measures are in place to ensure staff safety.
