Job Overview:
The director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Senior Director for the Global Markets Team (GMT) at CHAI is responsible for leading and managing a diverse group of staff across various regions, including the US, India, Africa, and Europe. This role involves building relationships with country and program leadership teams to develop and execute strategies that sustain CHAI's leadership in market shaping globally. The Senior Director will oversee market-shaping interventions that increase access to critical health commodities in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). This position requires a commitment to CHAI's mission and values, as well as the ability to inspire and lead a high-performing team. The Senior Director will also engage in business development and support major grant submissions, fostering long-term collaborative relationships with funding organizations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Director will be responsible for negotiating product deals with biopharmaceutical and diagnostic companies, managing relationships with global health partners, and conducting market analysis and research. They will lead negotiations on key market-shaping interventions, mentor staff in supplier negotiations, and define program strategies. The Senior Director will also manage budgets and grants, support CHAI country teams in improving access to health commodities, and create opportunities for CHAI's sector influence at strategic global forums. Additionally, they will be expected to work effectively across a complex organizational matrix and support the development of innovative programs that attract new donors to CHAI.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have 15+ years of progressive experience in the life sciences sector, including pharmaceutical and diagnostic products, and at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. They should possess exceptional negotiation skills, strategic development capabilities, and strong analytical and communication skills. The ability to build innovative partnerships and work independently in a fast-paced environment is essential. Experience managing high-performing teams and budgets is also required, along with the ability to travel as necessary.

Educational Background:
A relevant advanced degree in public health, business administration, or a related field is preferred. Candidates should have a strong understanding of the pharmaceutical and diagnostic industry, particularly in emerging markets.

Experience:
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the life sciences sector, particularly in roles that involve negotiation, strategic development, and team management. Experience in healthcare, international development, and working with low- and middle-income countries is highly advantageous.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, with additional languages such as French, Spanish, Hindi, or Swahili considered a significant advantage.
