Job Overview:
The director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Senior Director of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) will lead and oversee CHAI’s global ERM function, ensuring a cohesive and strategic approach to risk management. This role involves developing and implementing risk mitigation frameworks and strategies to enhance internal audits and compliance, positioning CHAI as a model for risk-aware operations. The Senior Director will drive enterprise-wide risk governance, ensuring that CHAI’s policies and processes proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks while aligning with global best practices and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned leader with a deep understanding of risk dynamics in international organizations and the ability to engage cross-functionally at all levels. This position requires a commitment to enterprise risk management, governance, and organizational integrity, and values personal qualities such as resourcefulness, tenacity, and a strong work ethic. The role also requires the ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 15% of the time.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities include developing and overseeing CHAI’s enterprise risk management strategy, embedding a risk-aware culture across all operations, and leading the design and continuous improvement of risk frameworks. The Senior Director will provide risk intelligence and scenario planning to senior leadership, ensuring that risk strategies align with CHAI’s programmatic objectives and financial sustainability. They will lead CHAI’s risk-related functions, providing strategic direction and oversight to compliance and internal audit resources, and ensure integration of risk governance frameworks across business functions. The role also involves serving as CHAI’s senior representative on risk and compliance matters, engaging with the Board, donors, and regulatory bodies, and overseeing the preparation of risk and compliance reports for senior management. Additionally, the Senior Director will drive the institutionalization of risk management practices and lead change management efforts to ensure the successful adoption of risk, compliance, and governance policies.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have 15+ years of experience, with at least 8 years specializing in enterprise risk management, compliance, internal audit, or investigations, preferably in an international NGO or development organization. A master’s degree in relevant fields such as law, business administration, public administration, finance, or risk management is preferred. Proven ability to develop and implement enterprise-wide risk management strategies is essential, along with demonstrated leadership experience managing cross-functional risk teams. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required, as well as the ability to engage and influence senior leadership and external stakeholders. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary for developing risk reports and presentations.

Educational Background:
A master’s degree is preferred, with relevant fields including law, business administration, public administration, finance, risk management, or a related discipline. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of risk management in an international context and for developing effective strategies that align with organizational objectives.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 15 years of experience, with at least 8 years focused on enterprise risk management, compliance, internal audit, or investigations. Candidates should have a track record of driving organizational change and embedding risk frameworks within complex, multi-country organizations, demonstrating their ability to navigate the challenges of international operations.

Languages:
