Job Overview:
The Assistant Project Manager position within the Global Corporate Solutions and Corporate Real Estate division of the World Bank is primarily focused on supporting the execution of facilities-related projects necessary for maintaining the organization's buildings. Reporting to the Senior Program Manager for Project Management Services, the role involves assisting in various project management tasks, ensuring that projects are completed efficiently and effectively. The position is structured as a one-year appointment, with the possibility of renewal for up to three years, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a sustainable and functional real estate environment that aligns with the World Bank Group's mission to create a world free of poverty on a livable planet.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Assistant Project Manager include providing support to the Project Management team on small to medium-sized interior and repair projects, which can range from $5,000 to $500,00
  • The role requires operational and procedural support to ensure that projects and service work order requests are executed according to established procedures and schedules. The Assistant Project Manager will determine the scope of projects, mobilize required resources, and coordinate with various internal units and key stakeholders, such as Corporate security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Security and Health Services, to maintain building operations. Additionally, the role involves developing project-specific proposals, assisting with project programming, coordinating with Building Managers and Project Managers, ensuring proper design and execution of projects, and overseeing post-occupancy activities. The Assistant Project Manager will also be responsible for reviewing vendor invoices and ensuring timely project completion and occupancy.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or a related field, along with at least two years of work experience in architecture, engineering, facilities management, or the real estate field. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, AutoCAD, and CAFM software is required. A detailed understanding of local building codes, ADA regulations, and facility management principles is essential. Candidates should demonstrate excellent organizational skills, project documentation experience, and the ability to read architectural drawings and conduct field verifications. Strong time management skills, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to integrity and accountability are also necessary for this role.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or a related field is required for this position. This educational background provides the foundational knowledge necessary for understanding the complexities of project management within the real estate sector, particularly in relation to building codes, design principles, and facility management.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of two years of relevant work experience in architecture, engineering, facilities management, or the real estate field.
