Job Overview: The Corporate Philanthropy Intern will play a crucial role in supporting WWF’s Private Sector Engagement (PSE) team, which is responsible for developing and managing corporate partnerships that align with WWF’s conservation mission. The intern will assist in various projects that enhance revenue and raise awareness of WWF’s initiatives. This position offers an opportunity to engage with companies at different stages of their sustainability journey, helping to set high sustainability standards across their operations. The intern will gain valuable experience in research, grant support, metric tracking, and communication, contributing to WWF’s efforts in fostering corporate responsibility and environmental stewardship.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Research and Analysis: Conduct industry research and analysis to support the PSE team’s strategy for corporate partnerships focused on area-based conservation. This includes critical thinking and light data entry tasks.
Grant Support: Assist the Major Giving Portfolio Lead in tracking and researching grants, as well as preparing proposals.
Metric Tracking Support: Compile and monitor data related to PSE Corporate Philanthropy, providing updates to team members and assisting in the creation of consolidated reports, such as quarterly and end-of-year summaries.
Communication Materials: Support the PSE Corporate Philanthropy team in compiling and reviewing both external and internal communication materials, presentations, and briefings.
Team Collaboration: Actively participate in team meetings and contribute to group projects, fostering a collaborative work environment.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent work experience) required; advanced degree in business administration, environmental science, corporate sustainability, or policy and government affairs preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong research skills with attention to detail.
Organized and self-motivated individual who aligns with WWF’s core values of courage, integrity, respect, and collaboration.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with communication platforms (Zoom, Outlook) and project management software (Monday.com).
Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree is required, with a preference for candidates pursuing or holding an advanced degree in relevant fields such as business administration, environmental science, corporate sustainability, or policy and government affairs. This educational background will provide the necessary foundation for understanding the complexities of corporate partnerships and conservation efforts.
Experience: The position is designed for current undergraduate or graduate students, thus requiring no extensive prior work experience. However, any relevant internships or volunteer experiences in conservation, corporate sustainability, or related fields would be beneficial. The intern should demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow within the role, contributing to the team’s objectives.
Languages: While there are no specific language requirements mentioned, proficiency in English is mandatory due to the nature of the communication and documentation involved in the role. Additional language skills may be considered an asset, particularly in regions where WWF operates.
