Job Overview: The ET Consultant position within the World Bank's Information Technology Solutions (ITS) Vice Presidential Unit is crucial for supporting the organization's mission of alleviating extreme poverty and enhancing shared prosperity. The role focuses on the Murex platform, which is integral for funding management and liquidity solutions. The consultant will be responsible for prototyping and developing DevOps pipelines, maintaining and enhancing applications, automating deployment processes, and ensuring adherence to coding standards. The position requires a strong understanding of Agile principles and involves collaboration with various teams to ensure successful integration and user acceptance testing. The consultant will also engage in documentation and artifact preparation for necessary clearances, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the ITS unit.
Duties and Responsibilities: The ET Consultant will undertake a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to: Prototyping and developing DevOps pipelines in Azure DevOps (ADO); maintaining and enhancing the ELMA application; automating the deployment of Murex environments; enhancing technical interfaces such as two-factor authentication and user management; automating various tasks within the scope of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CICD) in ADO; designing, developing, conducting code reviews, and testing applications in accordance with Agile methodologies; assisting in integration testing and user acceptance testing; performing code optimization while strictly adhering to the World Bank's coding standards; and assisting in the preparation of documentation or artifacts required for Enterprise Architecture/Operational Information Systems clearance.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master's degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree with at least 7 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The role demands expert knowledge and experience in Java, Python, and Bash scripting, as well as proficiency in SpringBoot, Spring Data, and the Spring Framework. Additionally, candidates should have advanced knowledge of Angular, Node.js, JavaScript, HTML, and DHTML, along with a solid understanding of Object-Oriented technology and standard Java development frameworks. Familiarity with Oracle 12c SQL and PL/SQL procedures is also essential, as is extensive experience in the Software Development Life Cycle and analysis and design using UML.
Educational Background: The educational requirements for this position include a Master's degree in a relevant field, which is preferred, or a Bachelor's degree with significant relevant experience. The educational background should ideally encompass areas related to information technology, computer science, software engineering, or a closely related discipline, ensuring that candidates have a strong theoretical foundation to support their practical skills in software development and IT solutions.
