Job Overview: The Product Analyst position within the World Bank Group's Information Technology Solutions (ITS) Vice Presidency is a critical role aimed at enhancing the organization's ability to meet its mission of eradicating extreme poverty and fostering shared prosperity. The role requires a strong business analytic capability to optimize operational efficiency and effectiveness while ensuring clear communication across various teams. Duties and Responsibilities: The Product Analyst will be responsible for a variety of key tasks, including:
Defining Business Requirements: Collecting and documenting business requirements for the Capital Markets line of business within the World Bank Treasury, establishing acceptance and evaluation criteria.
Managing the Product Roadmap: Assisting in prioritizing the product backlog to align with business objectives, developing and maintaining documentation such as business process flows and user stories, and collaborating with stakeholders to identify opportunities for product improvements.
System Testing: Contributing to the development and execution of test plans to ensure quality deliverables, supporting testing and validation processes.
Conducting market research to understand customer preferences and industry trends, and gathering user requirements through interviews, workshops, and surveys.
Supporting sprint planning and reviews to ensure timely product delivery, and providing guidance to entry-level professionals and teammates as needed. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master's degree with at least 2 years of relevant professional experience, or a Bachelor's degree with at least 4 years of relevant professional experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A solid understanding of loan products, practical experience in risk management (particularly liquidity risk and asset-liability management), and working knowledge of Treasury and Capital Markets, including fixed income instruments and derivatives, are essential. Familiarity with trade workflows and operational processes, including trade capture, settlement, and accounting processes, is also required. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate experience in business requirements analysis, product backlog management, and agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Master's degree in a relevant field, such as finance, economics, or information technology, along with at least 2 years of professional experience. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in a similar field with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience is acceptable. Candidates with certifications such as CFA or a degree in Risk Management will be preferred, as these qualifications demonstrate a commitment to professional development and expertise in the financial sector.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have a minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience for those with a Master's degree, or at least 4 years of experience for those with a Bachelor's degree.
