Job Overview: The ET Consultant (SAP Solution Manager Administrator) position at the World Bank involves playing a crucial role in the Information and Technology Solutions (ITS) Vice Presidential Unit. This role is integral to the World Bank Group's mission of eradicating extreme poverty and enhancing shared prosperity by delivering transformative information and technologies to staff across more than 150 locations. The consultant will be involved in Project Aria, a strategic initiative aimed at modernizing the finance ERP system, which includes a transition to S/4HANA and a subsequent transformation phase. The consultant will be responsible for managing the SAP Solution Manager, ensuring its optimal performance, and supporting the migration to SAP Cloud ALM. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining high standards of service delivery.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the ET Consultant include:
Setting up and configuring Solution Manager, including running SOLMAN_SETUP, connecting managed systems, and maintaining RFC connections and diagnostics agents.
Administering the Test Suite, which involves supporting test management setup, requirements and test case structures, and execution tracking.
Setting up and tuning technical monitoring, configuring system, integration, and job monitoring, and ensuring alerts are meaningful.
Keeping Solution Manager current and healthy by applying patches, support packs, and upgrades, and maintaining the Landscape Management Database (LMDB) and System Landscape Directory (SLD).
Supporting the implementation and testing teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Planning and executing the migration of relevant functions from Solution Manager to SAP Cloud ALM.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master's degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree with at least 7 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Additionally, strong hands-on experience in SAP Solution Manager administration, including setup, configuration, and operations, is essential. Candidates should also have solid experience with the SolMan Test Suite and test management setup, as well as a good understanding of technical monitoring, root cause analysis, and EarlyWatch. Familiarity with system landscape management, including LMDB, SLD, RFCs, and diagnostics agents, is also required, along with solid SAP Basis fundamentals to support patching, upgrades, and system health.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Master's degree in a relevant field, such as Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline, with at least 5 years of relevant experience. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in a similar field with at least 7 years of relevant experience is acceptable. Candidates with equivalent combinations of education and experience may also be considered.
Experience: The position requires a significant level of experience, specifically at least 5 years of relevant experience for candidates with a Master's degree, or at least 7 years for those with a Bachelor's degree. This experience should include hands-on administration of SAP Solution Manager, as well as familiarity with the SolMan Test Suite and technical monitoring processes.
