Job Overview:
The Associate Product Owner position at the World Bank Group is a critical role within the Information Technology Solutions (ITS) Vice Presidency, specifically in the ITS Risk Management and Analytics (ITSRA) unit. This role is designed for an experienced professional who will act as a bridge between business needs and technology solutions, particularly in the Capital Markets domain. The successful candidate will be responsible for understanding and addressing business requirements related to liquidity management, loan products, and capital market products. The role requires a deep understanding of the financial landscape, including risk management, valuation, and accounting processes. The Associate Product Owner will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure that product solutions align with the strategic goals of the organization and adhere to established technology standards. This position also involves documenting business requirements, preparing test cases, and supporting the application post-launch, ensuring that the solutions delivered meet the highest quality standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Associate Product Owner include acting as a Business Analyst for the Capital Markets line of business within Treasury, focusing on liquidity management, issuances, buybacks, derivatives, and valuations. The role involves building stakeholder consensus, developing business cases, requirements, use cases, and test plans. The Associate Product Owner will coordinate with fiduciary reviewers, participate in the procurement of COTS solutions, and document business processes and workflows. Additionally, the role requires collaboration with Project Managers, Tech Leads, and Solution Architects to determine existing solutions or the feasibility of new ones. The Associate Product Owner will also leverage rapid prototyping to present proposed solutions, provide overall support for application design and implementation, maintain a comprehensive trail of requirements, and evaluate new products or initiatives. The position demands strong organizational skills to prioritize requirements effectively and manage project timelines while ensuring adherence to quality standards.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Associate Product Owner position must possess a Master’s degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with at least 7 years of experience in the Treasury or Capital Markets domain. An equivalent combination of education and experience is also acceptable. A solid understanding of loan products, practical experience in risk management (particularly liquidity risk and asset-liability management), and a working knowledge of Treasury and Capital Markets are essential. Candidates should have demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst in complex financial or technical environments, along with advanced proficiency in stakeholder engagement, product backlog management, and data-driven decision-making.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Master’s degree in a relevant field, such as finance, economics, or business administration, with a focus on Treasury or Capital Markets. Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline combined with significant relevant experience is acceptable. Candidates with additional certifications, such as CFA or degrees in Risk Management, are preferred.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience for candidates with a Master’s degree, or at least 7 years for those with a Bachelor’s degree.
