The project aims to support partner countries in transforming their agricultural and food systems towards healthy nutrition for all within planetary boundaries. The role involves assisting the management team in Germany with various tasks, including research, analysis, and the preparation of information for different target groups and events. Interns will also contribute to the development of conceptual ideas related to the project themes and support partner consultations. This position is ideal for students looking to gain practical experience in international development and sustainable agriculture.
Duties and Responsibilities: As an intern, you will be responsible for conducting research, performing analyses, and providing expert assessments on relevant topics. You will prepare information for various target groups and events independently. Additionally, you will assist in developing conceptual ideas related to the project themes and support partner consultations. Your role will also include planning, executing, and following up on professional events, international conferences, and training sessions. You will help create publications and informational materials, support the daily operations of the Global Project through organizational and technical assistance, and prepare progress reports. Furthermore, you will take minutes during meetings and contribute to the overall success of the project.
Required Qualifications: Candidates should be enrolled in their studies from the 5th semester onwards in fields such as agricultural sciences, political sciences, social sciences, or other relevant disciplines. Strong oral and written communication skills in both German and English are essential, while knowledge of French or Spanish is considered an advantage. The ability to work both independently and as part of a team is crucial. Previous experience in developing countries is beneficial, as well as initial knowledge in international development cooperation, livestock, agriculture, agricultural trade, and value chains. Familiarity with relevant software is also required.
Educational Background: The position requires candidates to be currently enrolled in a university program, specifically from the 5th semester onward, in relevant fields such as agricultural sciences, political sciences, or social sciences. The internship is only available to those who are either currently studying, in a training program that includes an internship, or have graduated no more than six months prior to the start of the internship.
Experience: Interns should ideally have some experience or exposure to international development cooperation, particularly in areas related to agriculture and livestock. While specific professional experience is not mandatory, any previous internships or volunteer work in relevant fields will be advantageous. The role is designed for students who are looking to apply their academic knowledge in a practical setting and gain insights into the workings of international development projects.
