Job Overview: The security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Security Training Officer position is situated within the Security Services Division of the Corporate Services and Facilities Department at the IMF. This role is integral to the security training team, which is responsible for the development and delivery of comprehensive security training programs. The Training Officer will work under the guidance of the Deputy Division Chief and will be the primary learning specialist within the Division. The officer will manage the Security Training program, focusing on both instructor-led and e-learning training solutions. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure that the training strategy is innovative, relevant, and aligned with the business needs of the IMF. The Training Officer will also be responsible for measuring the impact of training initiatives and creating engaging learning experiences for IMF staff.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Security Training Officer will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including: developing, reviewing, and implementing the training strategy and work programs to ensure alignment with the Division's objectives; collaborating with stakeholders to maintain the relevance of the training strategy; co-managing logistical and administrative support for training programs; acting as the IMF focal point for UN training coordination; serving as a lead instructor for training courses; ensuring trainers are certified for UN global training products; working with vendors to develop e-learning content; drafting communications materials and training schedules; monitoring and managing training budgets; and ensuring all internal training courses are recorded in the IMF's Learning Management System.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree or equivalent in behavioral science, communications, event management, security risk management, or a related field. Alternatively, a university degree supplemented by a minimum of six years of relevant professional experience is acceptable. Applicants should have experience in developing learning strategies, conducting needs assessments, and instructional design, ideally within an NGO, UN, Military, Law Enforcement, or Emergency Services context. A strong understanding of Learning and Development practices and trends relevant to a global audience is essential, along with proven knowledge in curriculum development and adult learning best practices. Experience in delivering complex security training programs is also required.
Educational Background: The ideal candidate should have an advanced university degree in a relevant field such as behavioral science, communications, event management, or security risk management. Alternatively, a university degree with significant professional experience in related areas is acceptable. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of security training and the development of effective learning strategies.
Experience: Candidates should have substantial experience in learning strategy development, instructional design, and delivering security training programs. A background in operational planning and the ability to coordinate diverse activities effectively is necessary. Experience in security training, particularly in high-risk environments, is highly desirable. The candidate should also have a proven track record of working collaboratively within teams and managing interpersonal relationships effectively.
Languages: Proficiency in written and verbal communication in English is mandatory for this position. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not explicitly required.
