Job Overview: The Project Manager will report to the Head of the Climate Change Adaptation and Resilience Building (CCARB) and will be responsible for the overall management and implementation of the project. This role involves planning and executing project activities in alignment with WFP’s policies and guidance. The Project Manager will support the development of annual work plans, implementation modalities, and staffing structures, while also liaising with stakeholders, including government entities and cooperating partners. The position requires the facilitation of linkages between smallholder farmers and various market stakeholders, as well as the formulation of best practices in agriculture, particularly in relation to innovative and technological approaches relevant to the Tajikistan context. The Project Manager will also be tasked with developing technical specifications and cost estimates for necessary infrastructure and assets, supporting research and assessments, and ensuring the integration of cross-cutting issues such as gender and social inclusion into project activities.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Project Manager will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including:
Contributing to the general management of the project and supporting planning and implementation processes.
Developing annual work plans and selecting cooperating partners.
Liaising with stakeholders to form and strengthen technical working groups.
Developing training modules and facilitating demonstrations of best practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
Educational Background: Candidates must have an Advanced University degree in development studies or other fields related to international development. Alternatively, a First University Degree with additional years of related work experience and/or relevant trainings or courses will also be considered acceptable.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in managing international development projects. Candidates should have a solid understanding of agricultural development and the application of digital or modern technology within the agriculture sector. Experience in stakeholder engagement and project management is essential.
Languages: Fluency in oral and written English and Korean is required (level C). Additionally, fluency in Tajik or Russian will be considered an advantage, enhancing communication with local stakeholders and communities.
