Job Overview:
The security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Security Guard position is crucial for maintaining a safe and secure environment for UN House personnel and assets. The role involves working in a Security Unit consisting of eight Security Guards, performing duties in rotating shifts that cover a 24/7 schedule. The Security Guard will be responsible for providing reliable security services under the guidance of the UN House Security Assistant/Security Team Leader and the Operations Manager. The position requires a client-oriented approach, a high sense of responsibility, and the ability to work with individuals from diverse national and cultural backgrounds. The Security Guard will monitor surveillance systems, respond efficiently to incidents, and ensure the protection of personnel and premises.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Security Guard will perform a variety of tasks to ensure a safe environment, including but not limited to:
  • Access Control: Managing pedestrian and vehicular access to UN House facilities, ensuring proper identification and screening of personnel and visitors. This includes maintaining a log of visitors, monitoring CCTV for potential issues, and conducting inspections of vehicles.
  • Control Center Operations: Maintaining the security control center, monitoring emergency lines, public address systems, video surveillance, and other security systems.
  • Emergency Response: Acting as a response officer during emergencies, implementing UN House emergency procedures, and ensuring the safety of personnel and assets.
  • Patrolling: Conducting regular patrols of the UN House premises, checking for irregularities, and ensuring all security measures are in place.
  • Reporting: Timely reporting of incidents to supervisors and taking immediate security measures as necessary. The Security Guard will also be responsible for maintaining the emergency key system and implementing prescribed security measures.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess secondary education as a minimum requirement. A university degree (Bachelor's degree) will be considered an asset but is not mandatory. Candidates should have at least three years of relevant work experience in providing security services within police, military, or other governmental, private, or international organizations. Those with a Bachelor's degree will not require prior experience. Knowledge of Windows and MS Office applications is essential, along with the ability to manage security systems including CCTV and access control systems. A valid driving license is desired, as well as proven experience as a Security Guard with an international organization or embassy.

Educational Background:
The minimum educational requirement for this position is secondary education. While a university degree (Bachelor's degree) is not mandatory, it will be given due consideration. Relevant training and professional accreditation in the security field are considered assets.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of three years of professional experience in security services, particularly in police, military, or other governmental, private, or international organizations. Candidates with a Bachelor's degree will not need prior experience, making this role accessible to recent graduates in relevant fields.

Languages:
Fluency in Romanian and a working knowledge of English are required for this position. Additionally, knowledge of one or more languages relevant to Moldova, such as Russian, Bulgarian, Gagauzian, Romani, Ukrainian, or sign language, would be considered an asset, enhancing communication with diverse groups.
