Job Overview:
The position of Online Volunteer Translator and Editor at UN Women Jordan involves providing essential support in translating and editing communications materials that are crucial for promoting gender equality and women's empowerment. Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities for this position include:
  • Translating written content from Arabic to English or vice versa, ensuring that the translation is accurate and culturally relevant.
  • Editing and proofreading translated materials to enhance clarity, fluency, and tone.
  • Ensuring the use of gender-sensitive and contextually appropriate terminology throughout all communications.
  • Maintaining accuracy and consistency in alignment with UN Women editorial standards.
  • Collaborating with other volunteers to complete the translation of four documents, with two volunteers assigned to each document.
  • Participating in discussions and feedback sessions to improve the quality of translations and edits.
  • Adhering to deadlines and delivering high-quality work in a timely manner.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in both Arabic and English, with strong translation and editing skills.
