Job Overview:
The position of National Expert on FAE Detection Equipment and Asset Management is crucial for the effective management and procurement of detection equipment related to FAE (Fertilizer and Agricultural Equipment). The expert will be responsible for providing technical expertise and guidance in the procurement process, ensuring that the equipment meets the necessary standards and requirements. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders, including government agencies, to enhance the asset management framework and improve the overall efficiency of operations. The expert will also be expected to contribute to the development of strategies for effective asset management and provide training and support to local teams.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert advice on the procurement of FAE detection equipment, ensuring compliance with UNDP procurement policies and procedures.
  • Conduct assessments of current asset management practices and recommend improvements.
  • Collaborate with local authorities and stakeholders to develop a comprehensive asset management strategy.
  • Facilitate training sessions for local teams on the use and maintenance of detection equipment.
  • Monitor and evaluate the implementation of asset management strategies and report on progress.
  • Prepare technical specifications and documentation for procurement processes.
  • Ensure that all procurement activities are conducted transparently and ethically.
  • Respond to inquiries and provide clarifications regarding the procurement process as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of procurement activities and asset management practices.

Required Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in procurement and asset management, particularly in the context of detection equipment.
  • Strong understanding of UNDP procurement policies and procedures.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in using procurement management systems and tools.

Educational Background:
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in procurement, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field is required. A master’s degree in a relevant discipline is preferred and may be considered an asset.

Experience:
At least 5 years of professional experience in procurement and asset management, with a focus on technical equipment. Experience working with international organizations or UN agencies is highly desirable. Demonstrated experience in managing complex procurement processes and asset management frameworks is essential.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of Albanian is an asset. Proficiency in additional languages relevant to the region may be considered a plus.
