Job Overview:
The Project Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the monitoring, tracking, and timely implementation of the BSDGs Annual Work Plan. This position involves facilitating key operational processes within the program, ensuring project visibility through various communication strategies, and assisting in the effective reporting of project activities. The Project Assistant will work closely with the BSDGs team to ensure effective project planning and implementation, focusing on achieving results that align with the SDGs. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to fostering collaboration among team members and stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support the BSDGs team in effective project planning and implementation, ensuring timely updates to the Project Manager regarding any deviations from the Annual Work Plan.
  • Assist in quality control and assurance of project activities, tracking outputs and results, and ensuring efficient delivery.
  • Aid in drafting project progress reports and strengthen project coordination through effective communication with the UNDP sub-Office in Quetta.
  • Implement communication and outreach strategies, acting as the project communications focal person, and coordinating the development of publications and multimedia content.
  • Document success stories through field visits and assist in organizing conferences, workshops, and seminars.
  • Perform other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organization.

Required Qualifications:
  • Secondary education (12th grade) is required; a university degree in Business Administration, Mass Communication, Economics, Political Sciences, Social Sciences, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with development organizations (with secondary education) or 2 years (with a bachelor’s degree).
  • Proficiency in using computers and office software packages, with advanced knowledge of spreadsheet and database applications.
  • Experience in developing and implementing communication strategies and designing social media content is desired.
  • Knowledge of the socio-economic and governance landscape of Balochistan is a considerable asset, along with experience working with government counterparts in Pakistan.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a minimum of secondary education (12th grade). However, candidates with a university degree in relevant fields such as Business Administration, Mass Communication, Economics, Political Sciences, or Social Sciences will be given due consideration. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of project management and communication within the context of development work.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in support of development programs/projects for candidates with secondary education. For those with a bachelor’s degree, a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is required. This experience should include working with development organizations and supporting project-level activities, demonstrating the ability to manage communications and project deliverables effectively.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Urdu is required for this position. Proficiency in these languages is essential for effective communication with stakeholders, drafting reports, and implementing outreach strategies. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not mandatory.
