Job Overview:
The position of ET Consultant within the Treasury Client Solutions Department at IFC is designed for a dynamic and highly motivated finance professional. The primary focus of this role is on the automation of processes related to asset liability management (ALM) of IFC’s market-funded balance sheet. The consultant will be responsible for analyzing existing processes to identify opportunities for automation, utilizing advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence and large language models. This role requires collaboration with various Treasury units to ensure accurate and efficient delivery of analytical outputs, reports, and documents necessary for trader review and action. The consultant will also work closely with senior staff to streamline ALM processes and enhance the overall business functions of the Treasury Client Solutions Department.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the ET Consultant include:
  • Analyzing processes around asset liability management that are suitable for automation, with a focus on utilizing artificial intelligence models to facilitate this automation.
  • Reading and interpreting legacy documents to extract relevant information for trading and hedging activities in an automated manner.
  • Proactively identifying and troubleshooting issues related to systems, databases, or programs that impact automation projects.
  • Collaborating with other Treasury units to ensure the timely delivery of analytical and ALM-related outputs, reports, and documents for trader review.
  • Working with senior staff to streamline and improve ALM processes, reporting, data analytics needs, and overall business functions within the Treasury Client Solutions Department.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for this position include:
  • A Master's or higher degree in Computer Science, Finance, Engineering, IT, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in IT or finance, particularly in process automation, business analysis, and/or quantitative modeling and analytics.
  • Strong quantitative and IT skills, including data analytics capabilities and experience with large data sets.
  • A proven track record of developing and launching technology products in large-scale environments.
  • Familiarity with IT development lifecycles and methodologies.
  • Basic understanding of artificial intelligence models, with experience in some models being a plus.
  • Attention to detail, multitasking ability, and strong oral and written communication skills.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a Master's or higher degree in fields such as Computer Science, Finance, Engineering, IT, or related disciplines. This educational background is essential to ensure that the candidate has the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills to perform effectively in the role.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in IT or finance. This experience should ideally encompass areas such as process automation, business analysis, and quantitative modeling and analytics. Candidates should demonstrate a strong background in handling complex data and developing technology solutions in large-scale environments.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory for this position. While additional languages are not specified as required, having knowledge of other languages could be beneficial in a diverse workplace like IFC.

Additional Notes:
The ET Consultant position is a one-year appointment, with the possibility of renewal at the discretion of the World Bank Group. There is a lifetime maximum of three years for ET appointments. If an ET appointment concludes before a full year, it will still count as a full year towards the lifetime maximum.
