Job Overview:
The position of Praktikant*in within the Sustainable Agricultural Supply Chains sector project involves supporting the Forum Nachhaltiger Kakao e.V. This initiative is a multi-stakeholder platform that includes members from the German government, the German confectionery industry, the German food trade, and civil society. The primary goal of the forum is to enhance the living conditions of cocoa farmers and their families, preserve natural resources and biodiversity in cocoa-producing countries, and increase the cultivation and marketing of sustainably produced cocoa. The intern will play a crucial role in communication, event organization, and monitoring activities, contributing to the overall mission of promoting sustainable cocoa supply chains.

Duties and Responsibilities:
As an intern, your responsibilities will include: assisting in the creation of communication materials, presentations, and conducting research (internet/literature); organizing and executing (online) events, meetings, trade fair appearances, and their follow-up; supporting the annual monitoring of the forum and the joint monitoring of sustainable cocoa platforms in Europe (preparation, accompaniment, evaluation); maintaining the website and social media (especially LinkedIn) by writing content and news; and performing administrative and organizational tasks in daily operations, including creating minutes in both German and English.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should possess a completed undergraduate degree in media, journalism, communications, agricultural economics, social sciences, or a related field, and should be in the final phase of their studies or have graduated no more than six months prior. Additionally, candidates should have initial knowledge in sustainability or sustainable agricultural supply chains, particularly in cocoa and/or multi-stakeholder initiatives. Experience in public relations, event management, and/or monitoring is also required. Strong verbal and written communication skills, experience in writing target group-oriented texts, and a pronounced ability to conceptualize are essential. Candidates should be team-oriented, well-organized, communicative, meticulous, and able to work independently under guidance. Proficiency in MS Office and ideally experience with content management systems are also necessary. Fluency in German and English is required, while knowledge of French is advantageous.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a completed undergraduate degree in relevant fields such as media, journalism, communications, agricultural economics, social sciences, or similar disciplines. Candidates must be currently enrolled in a program that necessitates an internship or have graduated within the last six months.

Experience:
The level of experience needed for this position includes initial exposure to sustainability topics, sustainable agricultural supply chains, and multi-stakeholder initiatives. Candidates should have some practical experience in public relations, event management, or monitoring, which can be gained through internships or academic projects.

Languages:
Fluency in both German and English is mandatory for this position, as the intern will be required to communicate effectively in both languages. Knowledge of French is considered a valuable asset and may enhance the candidate's profile.
