Job Overview:

This branch serves as a multimedia service that aims to promote the universal ideals of the UN, including peace and respect for human rights. The intern will gain practical experience in a dynamic newsroom environment, focusing on the production of daily news articles, in-depth features, and multimedia content in Portuguese. The role is designed for individuals who are eager to learn about the UN's operations and contribute to its mission through effective communication and storytelling.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern's responsibilities will include drafting news articles in Portuguese by integrating and translating information from various sources such as reports, press releases, and official statements. They will also proofread articles before and after publication, assist with fact-checking and background research, and help produce graphic, visual, and audio content. Additionally, the intern will have the opportunity to work on feature stories, conduct research and interviews, and review the partnerships database in collaboration with the UN Partnerships Unit. Other duties may include outreach and any additional tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for this internship, applicants must be enrolled in or have completed a graduate program in communication, journalism, international relations, public administration, English, Portuguese, or translation studies. Alternatively, applicants may be in their final academic year of a first university degree in the same fields. Proficiency in standard word processing and spreadsheet software, such as Microsoft Word and Excel, is required.
