Job Overview:
The Project and Programme Management Intern will work under the direct supervision of the Programme Manager in the Project Management Office (PMO) and will contribute to strengthening project management oversight. The intern will support portfolio tracking and key stages of the project lifecycle, engage in data analysis, and prepare analytical information for various UN Women offices. This role is designed to provide the intern with a comprehensive understanding of UN Women’s project lifecycle, including project design, monitoring, and governance across global offices. The intern will gain practical experience with corporate systems, data analysis, and project management tools, while also enhancing their analytical, communication, and project management skills in a dynamic PMO environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • PMO Project Lifecycle Support: Review project documentation for quality and compliance, consolidate insights from various offices, and collaborate with team members to ensure consistent application of project management standards.
  • Data Analysis, Systems Rollout, and Reporting: Analyze project data from corporate systems to support PMO oversight, conduct internal research, and develop data sets and analytical resources.
  • Learning Objectives: Gain a strong understanding of project lifecycle and implementation modalities, develop experience with corporate systems and dashboards, and strengthen analytical and communication skills.

Required Qualifications:
  • Education: University studies in Project Management, Public Administration/Public Policy, International Development, Social Sciences, Business Administration, Data Science/Analytics, Information Systems, or related fields.
  • Enrollment: Must be enrolled in a graduate program, final year of a bachelor's program, or have graduated within the last two years.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to interpret project data, and knowledge of business process mapping.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have university studies in relevant fields such as Project Management, Public Administration, International Development, or related disciplines. They should be enrolled in a graduate program, in their final year of undergraduate studies, or have graduated within the last two years. Alternatively, candidates may be enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship program that requires the internship as part of their studies.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have relevant educational background and may also benefit from prior experience in project management or related fields, although specific years of experience are not mandated. The focus is on candidates who are currently studying or have recently graduated, indicating a preference for fresh perspectives and current academic knowledge.

Languages:
Excellent communication skills in English (both written and oral) are required. Knowledge of another UN language is considered an advantage, enhancing the candidate's ability to engage in a multilingual work environment.

The internship is designed to provide a stipend to interns who are not receiving financial support from other sources.
