The internship program runs on a 12-month planning horizon, with candidates expected to indicate their preferred track in their motivation statement. The three tracks available are Analytics, Digital Services and AI; Strategic Planning and Integrated Policy and Programming; and Communications, Design and Media. Each track focuses on different skill sets and areas of expertise relevant to the UN's operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns at the UN Development Coordination Office will engage in a variety of tasks depending on their assigned track. For Track 1 (Analytics, Digital Services & AI), interns will apply data science and analytical methods to develop data visualizations, dashboards, and analytical reports, supporting decision-making processes. They will also assist in the ethical use of AI in development coordination. For Track 2 (Strategic Planning, Integrated Policy & Programming), interns will monitor global trends, support the preparation of analytical reports and policy papers, and assist in coordinating strategies and programs across DCO units. For Track 3 (Strategic Communications & Information Integrity), interns will develop strategic communications products, monitor media narratives, and support crisis communications coordination. All interns will contribute to the DCO Digital Solutions Lab, sharing knowledge and insights from their assigned teams.

Required Qualifications:
Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: be enrolled or recently graduated from a graduate school program in public policy, information management, data science, international relations, or a related field; or be enrolled in the final academic year or graduated from a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor’s level). Candidates should demonstrate their intention to pursue further studies or work in a field relevant to the internship. No prior work experience is required, but relevant training, education, or skills that can benefit the UN during the internship are essential.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have a relevant educational background, which includes being enrolled in or having graduated from a graduate program or a first university degree program in fields such as public policy, information management, data science, international relations, or similar disciplines. This educational foundation is crucial for understanding the complexities of the UN's work and contributing effectively to the internship.

Experience:
While no prior work experience is required for this internship, candidates should possess relevant training, coursework, or skills that align with the responsibilities of the position.
