Job Overview:
The Senior Programme Officer will play a crucial role in advancing UNAOC's mandate by developing, implementing, and evaluating awareness-raising and advocacy initiatives. This position requires a strong focus on promoting intercultural and interreligious dialogue, mutual respect, and global solidarity. The officer will lead research and program evaluations, propose policy directives, and ensure gender mainstreaming in all actions. The role involves managing outreach activities, conducting training workshops, and leading field missions. The Senior Programme Officer will also be responsible for establishing strategic partnerships with various stakeholders, including international organizations, civil society, and the private sector. The position demands a proactive approach to data collection and analysis to inform decision-making and reporting, ultimately ensuring the successful delivery of UNAOC programs and meeting donor expectations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Programme Officer will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including: leading the development and implementation of advocacy initiatives; ensuring gender mainstreaming in all actions; conducting research and program evaluations; proposing policy directives; guiding data collection and analysis; providing written outputs for senior management; supporting consultative meetings and conferences; managing outreach activities; designing and conducting training workshops; leading field missions; developing program proposals and reports; establishing collaborations with various stakeholders; collecting and analyzing data for decision-making; and delivering outcomes that meet donor expectations. The officer may also perform other duties as required, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a strong set of qualifications, including the ability to identify strategic issues and opportunities, generate compelling organizational direction, and assess international dynamics relevant to intercultural dialogue. The role requires excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as the ability to manage multi-stakeholder processes and coordinate high-level events. Candidates should demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and a commitment to gender balance in staffing. The ability to analyze and interpret data for decision-making is essential, along with a strong sense of responsibility for delivering outputs within prescribed standards.

Educational Background:
An advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in business administration, management, or related fields is required. Alternatively, a first-level degree (Bachelor’s) combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted. Successful completion of degree and non-degree programs in data analytics, business analytics, or data science is considered an advantage.

Experience:
A minimum of ten years of progressively responsible experience in project or program management, administration, or a related area is required. Candidates should have at least seven years of relevant experience within the UN Common System or comparable international organizations. Additionally, five years of experience in establishing and maintaining relations with UN entities and experience in resource mobilization are required. Experience in preparing donor reports and managing large funding grants is desirable, as is experience in data analytics and developing intercultural dialogue initiatives.

Languages:
English is required for this position, with a minimum proficiency level of UN Level II in reading, writing, listening, and speaking. French is considered desirable, also requiring a minimum proficiency level of UN Level II in all language skills.
