Job Overview:
The Research Data Analyst Intern will play a vital role in the Office of Supply Chain Management, contributing to projects that aim to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of supply chain operations. Interns will be fully integrated into the OSCM team, engaging in meaningful projects that provide insights into the workings of the United Nations. The role involves gathering and analyzing data from various sources, performing statistical analyses, and developing reports and visual representations of data. Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:

• Gathering and analyzing data from multiple databases and sources, utilizing statistical and mathematical programming to derive insights.
• Developing reports and visual representations of data to communicate findings effectively.
• Maintaining databases and data systems, ensuring data integrity and quality.
• Creating data visualizations for both internal and external stakeholders.
• Translating complex data results into clear written reports and presentations for management.
• Identifying trends and patterns in data using statistical methods and basic machine learning techniques.
• Contributing to innovative approaches to organizational challenges through evidence-based reasoning.
• Assisting in the development of data science solutions to enhance planning and decision-making processes within the organization.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for this internship, applicants must meet one of the following criteria: (a) be enrolled in a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be in the final academic year of a university degree program (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent); or (c) have graduated with a university degree as defined above. The organization welcomes candidates from diverse educational and professional backgrounds, particularly those pursuing studies in Analytics, Business Intelligence, Computer Science, Economics, Statistics, Operations Research, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Visualization, or related fields. No prior work experience is required, but relevant coursework and skills are essential.

Educational Background:
Candidates should be pursuing or have completed a degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Economics, Statistics, Operations Research, Engineering, Mathematics, or Data Visualization. The internship is open to individuals who are currently enrolled in a graduate program or are in their final year of undergraduate studies. The educational background should ideally include coursework that aligns with data analytics and management, providing a solid foundation for the responsibilities of the internship.

Experience:
No prior work experience is required for this internship position. However, candidates should possess relevant academic training or coursework that demonstrates their ability to contribute effectively to the OSCM team. Languages:
Fluency in English is required for this position, as it is one of the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Knowledge of another official UN language, such as French, is desirable and would be considered an asset in the selection process.

This internship is offered on a full-time or part-time basis, with flexible working arrangements available, including remote work options. The expected duration of the internship is between three to six months, with a minimum commitment of three months required. Interns are not financially compensated by the United Nations, and they are responsible for their own travel, visa, accommodation, and living expenses. Candidates who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents must obtain a G4 visa to undertake the internship.
