Job Overview:
The Chauffeur position at NRC involves providing reliable transportation services to NRC personnel, visitors, and other guests in accordance with established guidelines. Duties and Responsibilities:
The specific duties and responsibilities of the Chauffeur include:
  • Providing transportation services to NRC staff, visitors, and guests as per instructions.
  • Ensuring compliance with NRC's vehicle management policies.
  • Keeping the assigned vehicle clean and in good working condition.
  • Performing daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance checks on the vehicle.
  • Collaborating with logistics to maintain vehicles in safe operational conditions.
  • Ensuring the vehicle has sufficient fuel before any transport service or trip.
  • Monitoring fuel consumption and reporting any irregularities.
  • Maintaining accurate and detailed trip logs.
  • Using the vehicle only for its intended purposes as authorized by the supervisor. 1
  • Adhering to local traffic laws and NRC's internal vehicle usage regulations. 1
  • Ensuring that seat belts are functional and used by all passengers. 1
  • Following all NRC road safety rules while driving. 1
  • Reporting any accidents immediately to the supervisor. 1
  • Ensuring the vehicle is equipped with a first aid kit at all times. 1
  • Facilitating radio communication while on board the vehicle. 1
  • Performing other relevant duties as instructed by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the Chauffeur position include:
  • A valid driving license of type B & C.
  • Proven experience as a driver in a humanitarian context.
  • Previous work experience in complex and volatile environments.
  • Documented results related to the responsibilities of the position.
  • A very good command of French.
  • Ability to speak local languages, particularly Arabic.
  • Knowledge of the local terrain, especially the Adré department.
  • Methodical, autonomous, and diligent work ethic.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for the Chauffeur position typically includes a high school diploma or equivalent. Additional training in vehicle maintenance or defensive driving may be advantageous but is not strictly necessary.

Experience:
Candidates for the Chauffeur position should have a minimum of 2-3 years of driving experience, particularly in humanitarian or NGO settings. Experience in challenging environments and familiarity with local road conditions and regulations are highly desirable.
