Job Overview:

The role involves data collection, cleaning, analysis, and visualization, as well as developing dashboards and reports that translate complex data insights into actionable recommendations for stakeholders. The Data Scientist will also be responsible for creating user-centered products that align with WRI Indonesia's commitment to impactful environmental solutions. This position requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary team and support from other workstreams within the Data Lab Indonesia, ensuring a comprehensive approach to data-driven initiatives. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Data Scientist will engage in various tasks, primarily focusing on data engineering, innovation, and system integration, which constitutes 80% of the role. Responsibilities include conducting data collection, cleaning, transformation, and integration from diverse sources to ensure high-quality datasets for analysis. The Data Scientist will apply statistical and machine learning techniques to extract meaningful insights and develop predictive models that support organizational objectives. Additionally, the role involves developing and maintaining data visualization tools, dashboards, and reports to effectively communicate analytical findings to stakeholders. The Data Scientist will implement and optimize algorithms to enhance data processing efficiency and predictive accuracy, support the development of data infrastructure and pipelines, and ensure compliance with data privacy and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security-policies" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security policies. Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field, with a Master’s degree preferred. A minimum of 3 years of experience in data science, data analytics, or a similar role is required. Applicants should have a solid methodological grounding in indicator development, measurement, and reporting, along with proficiency in programming languages related to data collection and management, such as STATA, Python, R, and SQL. Experience with machine learning libraries and frameworks like TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, and PyTorch is essential. Candidates should demonstrate in-depth knowledge of mathematical and quantitative reasoning, experience in creating advanced machine learning models, and a minimum of 2 years of experience in building data visualizations using tools like Tableau, Power BI, and Flourish. A generalist knowledge of data visualization libraries and packages is also necessary, along with strong analytical and organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively in a remote development environment.

Educational Background:

• The consultant will be compensated on a daily rate basis, with a maximum of 162 working days for the entire contract period, averaging 18 working days per month. The position requires the consultant to have authorization to work in Indonesia. Travel insurance will be provided for any travel duties assigned by WRI Indonesia. Candidates may be required to take a writing test and provide two writing samples during the selection process.
