Job Overview: The Officer will play a crucial role in supporting engagement and technical activities across multiple areas of the Energy and Sustainable Business Program, particularly focusing on the KADIN Net Zero Hub and the Clean Energy Investment Accelerator (CEIA). This position involves a variety of responsibilities, including administrative tasks related to events and stakeholder engagement, capacity building activities, and narrative development for communication and advocacy strategies. The Officer will assist in engaging relevant stakeholders, such as companies, for research and publication purposes, while also maintaining strategic relationships with businesses, business associations, and industrial estates. Reporting to the Engagement Manager, the Officer is expected to collaborate closely with the ESB engagement team, internal researchers, and operations teams. The role also includes providing technical assistance to corporate partners, contributing insights and knowledge supported by the technical/research team, and working with the communications specialist on event preparations and agendas. The position is based in Jakarta with flexible working arrangements and travel requirements as necessary. The Officer is also expected to actively participate in WRI's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion by integrating these principles into their work and the organizational culture.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Officer's duties and responsibilities include:
Stakeholder Management Assistance (20%): Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders of the ESB team, particularly corporate partners, business associations, government, financial institutions, and climate solution providers. Assist in designing, implementing, and monitoring engagement strategies to advance industrial decarbonization and energy transition agendas. Collaborate with relevant WRI researchers, operations, and business support teams at national or regional levels.
Company Insights Management (30%): Regularly update data management metrics and impact tracking from engaged companies. Assist in data collection through surveys and interviews, and analyze demand-side data to inform decisions and provide quality insights. Support training and mentorship activities for corporates on their net-zero journey. Operationalize KADIN Net Zero Hub and CEIA, maintaining engagement with members through newsletters and events.
Team Administrative and Communications Support (50%): Develop Terms of Reference (TOR), budgets, and other administrative documents to support ESB initiatives. Organize and coordinate events, focus group discussions, workshops, and seminars to promote initiatives and engage target audiences. Support project delivery timelines and assist in creating communication materials, including presentation decks, talking points, videos, and social media content.
Required Qualifications: The position requires a Bachelor's degree in business management, Environmental Engineering, Entrepreneurship, Economics, or a related Sustainability field. A minimum of 2 years of experience in stakeholder engagement or project coordination within relevant sectors such as energy, sustainability, environmental policy, or corporate relations is essential. Experience with private sector business functions at both strategic and technical levels is preferred. Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative data management and analysis frameworks is necessary, along with an adequate understanding of GHG accounting, climate target setting, industrial decarbonization, and knowledge of renewable energy and Indonesia's energy landscape. The candidate should possess strong project implementation skills, analytical abilities for supporting research and publications, and excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Bahasa Indonesia and English. Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities while delivering high-quality work are crucial. Familiarity with fostering discussions and building communities around climate education is preferred, as is the ability to work collaboratively and independently. Willingness to travel as assigned is required, and candidates must be legally authorized to work in Indonesia.
Educational Background: Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in business management, Environmental Engineering, Entrepreneurship, Economics, or another Sustainability-related field. This educational background is essential to ensure that the candidate has the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively engage with stakeholders and contribute to the Energy and Sustainable Business Program.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in stakeholder engagement or project coordination. This experience should ideally be within sectors related to energy, sustainability, environmental policy, or corporate relations. Candidates with experience in private sector business functions, particularly at both strategic and technical levels, will be preferred. Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative data management and analysis is also important, as is an understanding of GHG accounting and climate target setting.
Languages: Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Bahasa Indonesia and English are mandatory for this position. Proficiency in these languages is essential for effective stakeholder engagement, communication, and collaboration within the team and with external partners. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not required.

The deliverables include the finalization of a structured plan and tracker for managing relationships with key stakeholders, a regularly updated dashboard for company-level engagement data, continuous operational and communications support for KADIN Net Zero Hub and CEIA, and assistance in preparing TORs, budgets, and logistical arrangements for ESB programs and events. The terms of payment are based on a daily rate for a maximum of 216 working days over the contract period, averaging 18 working days per month. This is an individual consultancy contract that is part-time and limited term. The consultant rate will be commensurate with experience and skills, and travel insurance will be provided for any travel duties assigned by WRI Indonesia. Candidates must have authorization to work in Indonesia to be eligible for this position. Final candidates may be required to take a writing test and produce two writing samples when needed.
