Job Overview:
The Fundraising Intern will play a crucial role in supporting the Development Team at WRI Indonesia. This position is designed for individuals who are eager to learn about the fundraising process within a non-profit organization. The intern will assist in enhancing operational efficiency and expediting the proposal development process. Responsibilities will include preparing official correspondence and documents for grant applications, performing essential administrative tasks, and engaging in fundraising research activities. The intern will gain practical experience in a collaborative environment, contributing to the identification of potential funding resources and managing databases. This internship offers a unique opportunity to understand the intersection of environmental sustainability and fundraising, while also developing valuable skills in project management and donor compliance.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Fundraising Intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:
  • Assisting in the preparation of official correspondence and documents for grant applications.
  • Performing administrative tasks to facilitate team objectives, such as letter creation and co-developing presentation materials.
  • Conducting basic fundraising research to identify potential funding sources.
  • Managing databases related to fundraising activities.
  • Collaborating with team members to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Participating in team meetings and contributing ideas for improving fundraising strategies.
  • Engaging with various stakeholders to gather information and support fundraising efforts.
  • Learning about the end-to-end fundraising process and workflow within a non-profit organization.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor's degree program in a related field, such as Business Administration, Communications, Environmental Studies, or International Relations. Strong writing and proofreading skills are essential, as the intern will need to produce clear, concise, and compelling documents. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required. Additionally, candidates should possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Experience in project management, whether through campus activities or participation in university organizations, is also necessary. Candidates must be legally authorized to take an internship in Indonesia.

Educational Background:
The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree or be currently enrolled in a relevant degree program. Fields of study that are particularly relevant include Business Administration, Communications, Environmental Studies, and International Relations. This educational background will provide the necessary foundation for understanding the complexities of fundraising within a non-profit context and the environmental issues WRI addresses.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have some level of experience in project management, which can be gained through involvement in campus activities or participation in university organizations. While prior experience in fundraising is not mandatory, any exposure to non-profit work or related fields will be beneficial. The intern should demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment, showcasing their ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.

Languages:
Proficiency in both English and Bahasa Indonesia, both written and verbal, is mandatory for this position. Strong communication skills in these languages will enable the intern to effectively engage with various stakeholders and contribute to the organization's fundraising efforts. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not required.

  • Interns will receive standard wages and travel insurance for any travel duties assigned by WRI Indonesia. The internship offers access to the WRI global network and emphasizes a workplace culture that prioritizes diversity and inclusion. Candidates must have authorization to work in Indonesia to be eligible for this position. Final candidates may be required to take a writing test and provide two writing samples as part of the selection process.
