Job Overview:
The internship in the global project NDC Assist II offers a unique opportunity to engage with international climate policy, particularly in relation to the Paris Agreement. Interns will gain insights into the workings of GIZ and its projects, contributing to the implementation of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) in collaboration with eight partner countries. The role involves supporting various project components, including organizational tasks, monitoring and reporting of project activities, and preparing communication documents. Interns will work closely with a team and have the chance to develop their skills in a dynamic and impactful environment, contributing to climate finance and sustainable development efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including: supporting GIZ's data and knowledge management for the project; assisting in the evaluation and monitoring of project activities; updating reporting lists and filing systems; preparing communication documents such as presentations, reports, and newsletters in both English and German; organizing trainings and workshops for international participants; managing travel and visa arrangements; providing technical support; drafting concept notes; managing contacts and stakeholders for official meetings and workshops; and preparing content for meetings with international stakeholders, including PPTs, concept notes, and minutes.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should have experience working in intercultural settings and communicating with various stakeholder groups. Practical experience, particularly in project measurement, reporting, evaluation, or communication, is welcomed. Strong analytical thinking, a structured working style, and excellent oral and written communication skills are essential. Knowledge of development cooperation or administrative sciences/regulatory policy is also required. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and be highly organized.

Educational Background:
Applicants must be currently enrolled as students or have graduated no longer than six months prior to the start of the internship. This requirement ensures that candidates are fresh in their academic pursuits and can apply their recent knowledge to the internship.

Experience:
The position is suitable for candidates with some practical experience, including internships or work abroad, particularly in areas related to project measurement, reporting, evaluation, or communication. This experience will help interns navigate the complexities of international development projects and contribute effectively to the team's objectives.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory as it is the primary communication language for the project. Good German language skills are also preferred, enabling effective communication within the team and with stakeholders in Germany and partner countries.
