Job Overview: The internship focuses on enhancing access to energy, which is crucial for sustainable economic and social development. The intern will work on the Demand-Side Subsidies (DSS) component, which is designed to promote access to subsidized solar home systems and improved clean cookstoves for disadvantaged households, including refugees and host communities. The role involves supporting the implementation of DSS pilots in various countries, documenting lessons learned, and engaging with international stakeholders to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange.

Supporting the implementation of DSS pilots across countries such as Liberia, Malawi, Niger, and Uganda.
Assisting in the documentation and analysis of lessons learned from each DSS pilot to inform future initiatives.
Contributing to the development and execution of DSS studies and evaluations to assess the effectiveness of the subsidy mechanisms.
Engaging with international stakeholders to facilitate discussions and exchanges on demand-side subsidies.
Assisting in the creation and design of communication materials to promote the DSS initiatives.
Supporting day-to-day project activities and potentially participating in additional EnDev activities as needed.

Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory, while knowledge of German and French is advantageous. Experience or expertise in Sub-Saharan Africa, development cooperation, or the energy sector is desirable.
Educational Background: The ideal candidate should be currently enrolled as a student or have graduated no more than six months prior to the start of the internship. This educational requirement ensures that the intern has a recent and relevant academic background that aligns with the responsibilities of the position.
Experience: The internship is designed for individuals who are either currently pursuing their studies or have recently completed their degree. Therefore, while specific prior work experience may not be mandatory, any relevant experience in the fields of energy access, development cooperation, or related areas will be beneficial and viewed favorably during the selection process.
Languages: Fluency in English is a mandatory requirement for this position, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization and for the tasks involved.
