Job Overview: The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position is situated within the Sector Project for Vocational Education, part of the Health, Education, and Social Group (G110) in the Department of Economy, Social Affairs, and Digitalization. This project is commissioned by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and encompasses areas such as vocational education, higher education, and science. The intern will engage in a variety of aspects related to vocational education, including green skills, digitalization, migration, and gender issues. The role involves supporting the project through conceptual and technical contributions to all activities related to vocational education and higher education, as well as collaborations with scientific institutions.
Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will assist the Sector Project by providing technical and conceptual support for all activities within the project's thematic areas. Key responsibilities include:
Supporting ad hoc contributions to current work packages for the BMZ related to vocational education, higher education, and science in German development cooperation.
Assisting in the BMZ's advisory role concerning funding recipients such as the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (AvH).
Conducting research and preparing analyses, summaries, and result papers, as well as compiling information for advisors within the sector project.
Managing information and knowledge dissemination, as well as external representation of the sector project.
Aiding in the preparation, execution, and evaluation of internal and external events related to the sector project.
Supporting internal project management, particularly in team communication regarding work processes via MS Teams.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must be enrolled in a university program, ideally in their fourth semester or beyond, in fields such as education, social sciences, political science, vocational or economic education, or a comparable discipline. They should possess political sensitivity and demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills. A quick grasp of new topics and outstanding analytical abilities are essential. The ability to work independently, flexibility, and a strong service orientation are also required. Proficiency in both German and English is mandatory, and familiarity with common data processing systems is expected. Experience in development cooperation is advantageous but not required.
Educational Background: The ideal candidate should be pursuing a degree in education, social sciences, political science, vocational or economic education, or a related field. Enrollment in a program that necessitates an internship as part of the curriculum is essential, or the candidate must have graduated no more than six months prior to the start of the internship.
Experience: While prior experience in development cooperation is beneficial, it is not a strict requirement for this internship position. The focus is more on the candidate's academic background and their ability to engage with the subject matter effectively.
Languages: Fluency in German and English is required for this position. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not mandatory.
