Job Overview: The Food Security and LivelihoodsProgram Manager (FSL-PM) will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of food security and livelihoods programs in Gaza. This role requires a strategic approach to program management, ensuring that initiatives are aligned with the organization's mission and objectives. The FSL-PM will work closely with local partners, stakeholders, and beneficiaries to assess needs, design interventions, and monitor progress. The position demands a strong understanding of the local context, including socio-economic factors affecting food security, and the ability to adapt programs to meet evolving challenges. The FSL-PM will also be expected to contribute to capacity building efforts, ensuring that local staff and partners are equipped to implement and sustain programs effectively.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of food security and livelihoods programs in Gaza.
Conduct needs assessments and market analyses to inform program design.
Develop and manage program budgets, ensuring financial accountability and compliance with donor requirements.
Collaborate with local partners and stakeholders to enhance program effectiveness and sustainability.
Monitor and evaluate program outcomes, using data to inform decision-making and improve interventions.
Prepare reports and documentation for donors, stakeholders, and internal use.
Advocate for food security and livelihoods issues at local and national levels.
Ensure adherence to organizational policies and procedures, including safeguarding and ethical standards.
Required Qualifications:
Proven experience in program management, particularly in food security and livelihoods.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to inform program decisions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
Knowledge of the local context and challenges related to food security in Gaza.
Experience in capacity building and training of local staff and partners.
Familiarity with donor regulations and reporting requirements.
Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as agriculture, economics, international development, or social sciences is required. A master's degree is preferred and may be considered an asset for this position.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in program management, with a focus on food security and livelihoods. Experience working in humanitarian or development settings, particularly in conflict-affected areas, is highly desirable.
Languages: Fluency in Arabic and English is mandatory. Knowledge of additional languages spoken in the region would be considered an asset.
