Job Overview:
The position of Expert.e international.e ODD involves the recruitment of an international expert tasked with developing and implementing the impact framework for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) within a specific project. The expert will be responsible for ensuring that the project aligns with the SDGs and contributes to their achievement. This role requires a deep understanding of the SDGs, the ability to analyze and measure impact, and the skills to work collaboratively with various stakeholders. The expert will also need to provide strategic guidance and recommendations based on best practices in sustainable development. The contract duration is thirteen months, with the mission requiring 17 working days. The expert will be expected to submit their proposal directly through the UNDP supplier portal, adhering to the guidelines provided.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Expert.e international.e ODD include:
  • Developing a comprehensive impact framework for the SDGs related to the project.
  • Conducting thorough assessments to identify key performance indicators (KPIs) that align with the SDGs.
  • Collaborating with project stakeholders to ensure the framework is practical and applicable.
  • Providing training and capacity-building sessions for project staff on the implementation of the impact framework.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the progress of the project in relation to the SDGs.
  • Preparing detailed reports and presentations on findings and recommendations.
  • Engaging with external partners and experts to gather insights and feedback on the framework.
  • Ensuring compliance with UNDP policies and procedures throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a strong background in sustainable development, with specific expertise in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). A proven track record of developing impact frameworks and conducting evaluations is essential. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate excellent analytical skills, the ability to work collaboratively in diverse teams, and strong communication skills. Familiarity with UNDP's operational procedures and policies is highly desirable. Candidates should also have experience in project management and stakeholder engagement.

Educational Background:
A master's degree or higher in a relevant field such as international development, public policy, environmental science, or a related discipline is required. Additional certifications or training in project management or sustainable development will be considered an asset. Candidates should have a solid understanding of the SDGs and their implications for development projects.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the field of sustainable development, with a focus on the SDGs. Experience working with international organizations, particularly within the UN system, is highly advantageous. Candidates should have a demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and engage with a variety of stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and community organizations.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as all documentation and communication will be conducted in this language. Proficiency in French is highly desirable, given the context of the project in Algeria. Knowledge of Arabic would be an additional asset, enhancing communication with local stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
This position is for an individual contractor and is expected to last for thirteen months. The contract will be based on a full-time commitment, with specific deliverables outlined in the impact framework.
