Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will be responsible for preparing documents for the ILO's supervisory bodies, which includes analyzing complaints and conducting preliminary reviews of national laws and practices. They will also carry out research relevant to the ILO's mandate, focusing on comparative law aspects. The intern's work will primarily involve substantive legal tasks, with a smaller portion of time allocated to other duties as assigned by their supervisor. Interns are expected to collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute to a productive team environment.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have a strong background in law or a related field. They should be enrolled in a Master's or Doctorate program, or have completed such a program within the past year. A working knowledge of English, both oral and written, is mandatory. Additionally, candidates should possess good communication skills, solid legal research and analytical competencies, and the ability to work in a multicultural and multilingual environment. Experience in legal research and analysis, as well as legal drafting, is highly desirable.

Educational Background:
The ideal candidate should hold a degree in law or a closely related field. They must be currently enrolled in a Master's degree program or have completed such a program no longer than one year prior to the application date. This educational background is essential to ensure that the intern can effectively engage with the legal aspects of the ILO's work.

Experience:

Additional Notes:
The internship contract will last between 3 to 6 months, starting on either the 1st or the 15th of a given month. Interns will receive a stipend of 2450 CHF per month, unless they are receiving funding from another institution. In cases where partial funding is received, the ILO will cover the difference to ensure the intern receives the full stipend. Additionally, interns will receive a monthly contribution towards medical insurance costs. Candidates from non- or under-represented member states may be eligible for financial assistance for travel costs to Geneva.
