Job Overview:
The internship is designed to provide students or recent graduates with practical experience in the field of trade and logistics, specifically within the framework of the TrainForTrade Programme. The internship will commence in January 2026 and will last for an initial period of five months. Interns will work under the supervision of the Chief of the Human Resources Development Section and the Programme Management Officer, gaining insights into the operations of the UNCTAD and the Division of Technology and Logistics. The role involves assisting with research on trade-related issues, participating in online meetings, managing online courses, and contributing to social media activities. Interns will receive training and mentoring throughout their internship, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including: conducting quantitative and qualitative research on trade-related topics such as the digital economy and trade statistics; participating in online meetings and webinars; managing TrainForTrade online courses, including moderating forums and communicating with participants; preparing drafts and developing visual aids like charts and graphs; proofreading and editing publications and course materials; contributing to social media activities for the programme; drafting news articles for the TrainForTrade website; updating the online calendar of activities; and supporting other activities as required by the section. Interns must adhere to the rules and regulations of the UN and respect the confidentiality of information obtained during their internship.

Required Qualifications:
Applicants must meet specific qualifications to be eligible for the internship. They should either be enrolled in or have completed a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent) or be in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor's level). Additionally, interns should be computer literate in standard software applications, demonstrate a keen interest in the work of the United Nations, and possess the ability to interact successfully with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. No prior work experience is required, but a field of study related to the internship is necessary.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have a relevant educational background, which includes being enrolled in or having completed a graduate program or being in the final year of a bachelor's degree program. This educational experience should align with the internship's focus on trade and logistics, ensuring that interns can contribute effectively to the organization's objectives.

Experience:
No prior professional work experience is required for applicants to the United Nations Internship Programme. Languages:
