Job Overview: The Monitoring & Evaluation Associate position at WFP is crucial for supporting the planning and implementation of monitoring and evaluation activities that assess the effectiveness and impact of WFP’s programs in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. This role involves working under the supervision of the Head of the Monitoring and Evaluation Unit, where the associate will be responsible for supervising the monitoring team, overseeing data collection arrangements, and ensuring compliance with corporate standards. The associate will also be tasked with analyzing monitoring data, preparing reports, and ensuring that all deliverables meet the required quality standards. This position is integral to ensuring that WFP’s activities are effectively monitored and evaluated, contributing to the overall mission of the organization to provide lifesaving food assistance and foster resilience in complex humanitarian settings.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Monitoring & Evaluation Associate include assisting in the monitoring and evaluation activities under WFP’s Country Strategic Plan, supervising the monitoring team in the West Bank, overseeing data collection arrangements, and developing and updating data collection tools. The associate will support the analysis of monitoring data collected during various phases of program implementation, analyze outcome indicators, and prepare a range of reports and data analyses. They will also perform quantitative and qualitative data analysis, visualize data, and prepare summary and detailed reports based on corporate reporting standards. Additionally, the associate will supervise field monitors, coordinate M&E activities with WFP’s partners, and provide inputs to update indicators, baseline, and target values based on the WFP M&E framework.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in economics, statistics, performance management, social sciences, social development, or a related field. A minimum of six years of experience in research, analysis, monitoring, and evaluation is required. Candidates should have strong analytical capabilities, report writing skills, and experience in technical report writing and research activities. Sound teamwork competencies, strong interpersonal and organizational skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) are essential. Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator or similar tools and proficiency in statistical software such as SPSS or Stata is also required.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as economics, statistics, performance management, social sciences, or social development.
