Job Overview:
The Project Management Support - Analyst position is situated within the UN Partners Team, which is dedicated to supporting various United Nations agencies under the GVA office, specifically based in Copenhagen. The GVA team collaborates with 10 UN partners, providing essential operational and administrative support in areas such as procurement, grants management, human resources, travel coordination, and workshop management. The role involves managing the procurement process, travel arrangements, and workshop logistics, ensuring efficient administration and quality service delivery that meets client needs. The analyst will work closely with the UNEP Copenhagen Climate Centre (UNEP-CCC), which was established in early 2022 and is programmatically guided by UN Environment (UNEP) and operationally supported by UNOPS. The position requires a proactive approach to ensure compliance and efficiency in operational delivery, facilitating the effective implementation of UN projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Project Management Support - Analyst will perform a variety of functions under the direct supervision of the Programme Management Specialist. Key responsibilities include:
  • Procurement Planning and Processes: Act as the designated procurement and workshops focal person for the UNEP-CCC programme, providing operational support to meet business needs. Review and prepare quarterly procurement and workshop plans in collaboration with UNEP-CCC technical personnel. Conduct procurement processes in compliance with UNOPS rules, from strategy development to contract management.
  • Workshop Planning: Support UNEP-CCC personnel in workshops by creating checklists, conducting market research, and coordinating with local offices. Process travel requests and expense claims for project personnel and manage travel arrangements.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Track all processes using available tracking tools and enhance reporting through Google tools. Input and update project data to support monitoring and evaluation activities.
  • Capacity Building: Contribute to institutional knowledge sharing and support the development of training materials for project staff.
  • Performance Monitoring: Participate in weekly team meetings to report on progress and define performance indicators in collaboration with the supervisor.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a first-level university degree (bachelor’s) in fields such as Business Administration, Project Management, Procurement, Public Administration, Economics, Environment, Political Sciences, International Relations, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or related fields. A Master’s Degree or equivalent in related fields is considered an asset and may compensate for some years of experience. Additionally, candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience with a bachelor's degree, including professional experience in project management, procurement, and workshop management support. Relevant experience at the national or international level is desirable, along with knowledge in data analysis and proficiency in Google Workspace tools.

Educational Background:
A first-level university degree (bachelor’s) in relevant fields is required. A Master’s Degree or equivalent in related fields is an asset and may compensate for some years of experience. Candidates should have a strong educational foundation that aligns with the responsibilities of the role, particularly in areas related to project management and procurement.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience with a bachelor's degree. Candidates should have professional experience in project management, procurement, and workshop management support. Experience at the national or international level in providing project management and procurement support services is desirable. Familiarity with data analysis and the use of Google tools is also beneficial.

Languages:
Fluency in oral and written English is mandatory. Knowledge of any other UN language is considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's profile for this position.

Additional Notes:
The contract type is an International Individual Contractor Agreement at the ICS 8 / IICA-1 level. The contract duration is ongoing and open-ended, subject to organizational requirements, availability of funds, and satisfactory performance.
