Job Overview: The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position focuses on the sustainable development of rural areas, which is crucial in addressing multiple crises such as climate change, environmental degradation, and food insecurity. The 'Sektorvorhaben Resiliente Ländliche Räume' (SV RLR) supports the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) in strengthening resilience in rural areas and positioning Germany's contributions to international development cooperation. Interns will assist the project team in various tasks, including logistical support for events, conducting research, and preparing materials related to sustainable land management and rangelands.
Duties and Responsibilities: Interns will support the project team with a variety of tasks, including: providing content and logistical support for the implementation of events and meetings; conducting research and evaluating current events and publications; preparing data, themes, concepts, and project results for professional statements, presentations, and external communication; focusing on sustainable rangeland management during research and evaluation tasks.
Required Qualifications: Candidates should be studying geography, agricultural or environmental sciences, or a related field. They should have initial experience in topics such as soil protection, sustainable land management, and rangeland management. The ideal candidate is motivated, team-oriented, and flexible, with an organized, independent, and results-oriented work style. They should be able to quickly grasp complex issues and summarize them concisely. Excellent written communication skills in both German and English are required, and knowledge of French or Spanish is advantageous. Proficiency in common MS Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and experience with social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn) are also necessary.
Educational Background: Candidates must be currently enrolled in a degree program, participating in a training program that includes an internship, or have graduated no more than six months prior to the start of the internship.
Experience: The position requires initial experience in relevant fields, particularly in soil protection, sustainable land management, and rangeland management. This experience can be gained through academic projects, previous internships, or relevant coursework.
Languages: Fluency in German and English is mandatory, with additional knowledge of French or Spanish considered a plus.
