Job Overview:
The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position focuses on communication and event management related to the global initiative 'Learning from Experience – Data for evidence-informed policy' (Data2Policy). This initiative has two main components: implementation with partner countries and advisory services to the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The intern will support the strategic direction of communication and event planning for the BMZ, assist in the conception and execution of national and international events, and contribute to the creation of communication materials that accompany the project's application cases and international collaborations. The role requires creativity and a proactive approach to developing communication products such as social media content, one-pagers, and videos.

Duties and Responsibilities:
As an intern, you will have various responsibilities including:
  • Supporting the strategic alignment of communication and event planning for the BMZ.
  • Assisting in the conception, execution, and accompanying communication of national and international events related to the project.
  • Contributing to the design and creation of communication materials that accompany the project's application cases and international collaborations.
  • Engaging in the creative development of communication products, including social media posts, one-pagers, and videos.
  • Collaborating with relevant stakeholders and partners to ensure effective communication and event execution.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should possess a creative mindset and a willingness to contribute ideas and designs. A degree in media studies or a related field with a focus on communication and/or event management is required. Additionally, the candidate should have initial professional experience in communication and/or event organization, particularly with political actors in the digital scene. Proficiency in communication tools for design and graphic creation (such as PowerPoint, Photoshop, and Illustrator) is essential, along with preferably some knowledge in video production. Fluency in both German and English is mandatory, with negotiation-level proficiency expected in both languages.

Educational Background:
Candidates must be currently enrolled in a degree program, participating in a training program that includes an internship as an integral part, or have graduated no more than six months prior to the start of the internship. This educational requirement ensures that the intern is actively engaged in their academic pursuits while gaining practical experience in the field.

Experience:
The position requires initial professional experience in communication and/or event organization. This experience can be gained through internships, volunteer work, or previous employment in relevant fields, particularly involving political actors and digital environments. The emphasis is on having a foundational understanding of the communication landscape and event management processes.

Languages:
Fluency in German and English is mandatory for this position. Candidates should possess negotiation-level proficiency in both languages to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders and partners. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not explicitly required.
