Job Overview: The Individual Contractor position is focused on coordinating capacity-building sessions and translating training materials into Russian for the UN-SPIDER initiative. The contractor will work closely with various partner organizations, including ESCAP/APCICT and CAIAG, to ensure effective communication and dissemination of training information. The role involves preparing bilingual reports on training outcomes, localizing data for risk assessment exercises, and providing post-training support to participants. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Individual Contractor include:
Coordinating Capacity-Building Sessions and Meetings: - Manage schedules and logistics for presenters and participants, ensuring smooth communication. - Act as the primary contact for inquiries and updates related to training sessions.
Translating Training Materials into Russian: - Translate training documents from English to Russian, ensuring technical accuracy. - Collaborate with experts to validate translated content and terminology.
Preparing Bilingual Reports on Training Outcomes: - Document proceedings, discussions, and recommendations from training sessions. - Compile participant feedback and suggestions for future initiatives.
Preparing Localized Data for RiskChanges Configuration: - Identify and gather relevant spatial datasets for training exercises. - Clean and format data to meet RiskChanges platform requirements.
Supporting Follow-up Actions and Knowledge Sharing: - Provide post-training support to participants needing guidance. - Contribute to knowledge-sharing activities, including FAQs and lessons learned.
Required Qualifications: The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Additionally, candidates must have five years of professional experience in disaster management, with a proven track record of conducting international disaster management projects. Experience with UN project implementation is preferred, highlighting the need for familiarity with UN processes and standards.
Educational Background: A high school diploma or equivalent is the minimum educational requirement for this position. While higher education may not be explicitly required, relevant certifications or training in disaster management or related fields could be beneficial.
Experience: Candidates must possess a minimum of five years of professional experience in disaster management.
