Job Overview: The Consultant - Website Migration Expert will play a crucial role in enhancing the digital communication strategies of the UN's Department of Peace Operations. Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant will be responsible for conducting a thorough technical assessment of the current digital communication efforts related to peacekeeping. This includes evaluating website structure, content effectiveness, audience engagement, and editorial workflows. The consultant will develop strategic guidelines to optimize website content and digital communications, focusing on user experience and audience engagement. Additionally, the consultant will advise on enhancing internal capacity for strategic digital communications, conduct a mapping exercise of existing resources, and develop training modules to address identified gaps. The consultant will also provide expert advisory support to the Strategic Communications Section, ensuring that peacekeeping missions can effectively implement digital strategies during the migration period.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (Master's or equivalent) in communication, journalism, international relations, public administration, or a related field. A minimum of 7 years of experience in leading assessments and strategic reviews of websites for international organizations is required. Candidates should have a deep understanding of UN peacekeeping and the information needs of Member States. Experience in providing strategic advice on digital and traditional communications materials, as well as training design and delivery, is essential. Strong writing and editing skills, along with the ability to manage complex editorial projects, are required. Knowledge of AI technologies is desirable, as is a strong publication record.
