Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will engage in a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: contributing to the preparations for the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace and World Football Day; providing support during intergovernmental meetings; conducting research and analysis to inform the Secretary-General’s report on Sport for Development and Peace; assisting in drafting social media messages; providing communications support to the Office of the Director; managing website content; and helping to develop digital media assets. These responsibilities are designed to enhance the intern's understanding of the UN's work in social development and provide practical experience in a professional setting.
Required Qualifications: Applicants must meet one of the following criteria: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). It is essential that applicants are students in their final year of a bachelor’s, master’s, or Ph.D. program, or have completed such programs. Proof of enrollment or completion must be attached to the application.
