Job Overview:
The Programme Analyst position is pivotal in analyzing and assessing political, social, and economic trends that impact UNFPA's programs in the field of Gender and Gender-Based Violence (GBV). The role involves contributing to the implementation of the Gender/GBV program portfolio, ensuring alignment with government priorities and UNFPA policies. The Programme Analyst will work closely with various stakeholders, including government counterparts and NGOs, to design and implement country programs, monitor results, and enhance systems and procedures as necessary. This position requires a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for UNFPA assistance and intervention, as well as a commitment to ethical standards and human rights advocacy.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Programme Analyst will be responsible for a range of duties, including: collaborating with government counterparts and NGOs to design and implement country programs; ensuring monitoring and oversight mechanisms are established; analyzing the political, social, and economic environment relevant to UNFPA activities; preparing briefs and inputs for policy dialogue; assessing implications of new policy developments; establishing collaborative relationships with executing agencies and UN partners; implementing knowledge management strategies; supporting advocacy and resource mobilization strategies; coordinating GBV prevention and response programs; developing communications materials; providing technical assistance for national policies related to GBV; and representing UNFPA in relevant coordination mechanisms.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced degree in health, population, demography, or a related social science discipline. Additionally, they should have two years of professional experience in development and population activities, particularly in program/project management. Practical experience in the design, monitoring, and evaluation of development projects is essential, along with proficiency in office software packages and web-based management systems.
