Job Overview:
The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position is part of the Sector Programme Social and Environmental Transformation of Textile Supply Chains (SV SETTS), which supports the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) in enhancing working and living conditions in production countries. The role involves promoting gender equality and minimizing environmental impacts within the textile sector. The intern will assist in the operations of the Green Button certification scheme for sustainable textiles, engaging in activities that drive change in the textile supply chain. The position is designed for individuals interested in sustainable supply chains and corporate due diligence processes, with a focus on fair conditions for people and the environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
As an intern, you will be responsible for supporting the BMZ's advisory services on sustainable consumption and sustainability certificates. Your tasks will include planning and organizing events, such as a Grüner Knopf conference and various workshops. You will conduct research to prepare political status reports and handle inquiries from the BMZ. Additionally, you will assist in the revision of the Grüner Knopf certification, researching business models and incentives for companies to achieve certification. You will contribute to building a diverse portfolio of licensed companies and support the development of a robust assurance system for audits, gaining insights into advising companies on implementing Grüner Knopf standard requirements.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should be studying in their fourth semester or higher in fields such as economics, communications, political science, humanities, or a comparable area. Initial professional experience through internships in relevant sectors is advantageous. A good understanding of development policy contexts and the goals of German development cooperation is essential. Knowledge in sustainable textiles, corporate responsibility, and human rights due diligence is preferred. Proficiency in MS Office programs, strong analytical skills, and an interest in event management are also required. The ideal candidate should be well-organized, detail-oriented, and possess a friendly demeanor, contributing proactively to the team.

Educational Background:
The position requires candidates to be enrolled as students or to have graduated no longer than six months prior to the start of the internship. A background in economics, communications, political science, humanities, or a related field is necessary, with a focus on sustainability and development policy being beneficial.

Experience:
The internship is suitable for candidates who have gained initial professional experience through internships, either domestically or internationally. Experience in ministries, the private sector, or international organizations is particularly relevant, as it provides a foundation for understanding the complexities of development cooperation and sustainable practices in the textile sector.

Languages:
Candidates must have working-level proficiency in both German and English, ideally at a C1 level. This bilingual capability is crucial for effective communication within the organization and with external partners. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not mandatory.
