Job Posting Organization:

Job Overview:
The position is for a six-month internship within the Asia Regional Team of GIZ's International Services sector. Interns will support the team in daily operations related to project management and the acquisition of new projects. This role involves working with the German government on bilateral development cooperation and engaging with various international clients. Interns will gain insights into the management of consulting projects in partner countries and the procurement processes of donors in development cooperation. The internship is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the structures within GIZ and the international market for development services.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will assist the Asia team in various capacities, including:
  • Supporting the preparation of offers and pre-qualifications in the tendering process.
  • Conducting thematic research and preparing information for internal purposes.
  • Performing market research to identify potential opportunities.
  • Assisting project management with ongoing projects.
  • Researching and managing project references.
  • Supporting the preparation of expert assignments.
  • Providing administrative and organizational support to the team. This role offers the chance to take on responsibilities within a small international team and gain a broad perspective on GIZ's operations.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should be enrolled in a degree program from the third semester onward, preferably in a field related to social or economic sciences. A keen interest in the intersection of development cooperation and economic viability is essential. Relevant international experience in the region, such as internships, is desirable. Proficiency in both German and English, both written and spoken, is required, while knowledge of Spanish is considered a plus. Candidates should also demonstrate strong skills in MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams), possess organizational talent, and have a quick grasp of new concepts. An interest in independent work is also important.

Educational Background:
The ideal candidate should be currently enrolled in a university program, having completed at least three semesters in a relevant field. The internship is only available to those who are either currently enrolled, engaged in a training program that includes an internship, or have graduated no more than six months prior to the start of the internship.

Experience:
While specific prior experience is not mandatory, relevant international experience, particularly in the Asia region, is highly valued. This could include previous internships or volunteer work that demonstrates an understanding of development cooperation and project management.

Languages:
Fluency in German and English is mandatory for this position, as the work involves communication with both local and international stakeholders. Knowledge of Spanish is advantageous but not required, providing an additional asset for candidates who possess it.
